4. Embroider using Embroidery Legend. When embroidery is complete, spritz fabric with water; place right side down on white towel and press well.
5. If center lace rosette is desired, stitch 8" piece of lace edging into circle. Pull thread in heading and gather. Whip center together by hand to hold gathers in place. Stitch in place in center of embroidery. 6. Cut out both pillow pieces, keeping linings basted to Swiss batiste. 7. Pin front and back pieces, right sides together. Stitch around outside edge using 1/4" seam allowance and leaving a 1 1/2" - 2" opening for turning. Notch curves. Turn and press. Note: Seam allowance may be basted to pillow back to prevent a shadow on front of finished pillow. A wooden chopstick is helpful in this process. Insert chopstick into opening and gently push seam allowance against pillow back. Baste seam to back using tiny stitches. 8. Lightly stuff pillow with polyester fiberfill. Stitch opening closed. 9. Mark center of 1/8" ribbon. Stitch onto pillow at ribbon center with tiny stitches, placing as desired. Trim ribbon to desired length. After pillow is complete, secure baby jewelry to pillow with ribbon. Entredeux and Lace Finish (for small or large pillow) 2. Trim selvage from one side of entredeux. Attach gathered lace edging by hand or machine to trimmed side of entredeux, extending lace at each end 1/2". |
