Instructions
Select a bowl that is of standard size so the cover can be used on several different bowls. A rectangular bowl may be used, but a round one is much simpler. Cut the screen to shape. To do this, place the screen on a cutting surface and invert the bowl on it. Then mark with chalk 1" larger than the diameter of the bowl. Carefully cut along the chalk mark, and then fold the circle in quarters to find the exact center, and mark it with a pin or chalk.

Cut a piece of stabilizer to accommodate your embroidery design. Frame up the screen and stabilizer with the screen on top, making sure that it is centered. If your image is mostly rectangular, or if it has a definite top and bottom, align the grid of the screen in the frame so the lines of the grid are vertical and horizontal.

Sew out the embroidery design. When finished, sew the bias or bias tape around the outside edge of the screen, overlapping the ends. Cut a piece of elastic approximately three quarters the length of the circumference of the screen. Use a safety pin or a bodkin to thread the elastic through the bias. Overlap the edges and sew together. Pull the edges of the bias tape to evenly distribute the elastic. Then, carefully remove the stabilizer. Do not subject the cover to high heat or flame.
