Cutting Out
Front (blue batiste): Cut a rectangle to size indicated on cutting
chart. Fold in half lengthwise. With a water soluble marker, mark
center front and armhole
curves.
Back (blue batiste): Cut a rectangle the same size as for front. Fold
in half lengthwise, marking center back and armhole
curves, as for front.
Make a line down center back to depth of placket, as indicated in
chart, but do NOT cut placket opening.
Neckline corrections to front and back: To prevent hemline from dipping
at center front and hiking up at sides, adjust front by removing 1/2”.
Mark a dot at center front 1/2” down from neck edge. Mark another
dot at neck edge, 1/4” from armhole edge. With a rotary trimmer, cut
away wedge-shaped piece. Or draw a line with a yardstick and cut with
scissors. See Illustrations 1 and 2.

Placket (blue batiste): On the straight grain of fabric, cut one
placket to dimension indicated on cutting chart.
Sleeves (ivory batiste): Cut two ivory batiste rectangles to sleeve
size indicated on cutting chart. Mark armhole curve with neck edge
of armhole
template on one long side of rectangle and side of template against
short side. Draw in armhole curve; mark vertical center between curves.
Angel wing ruffles (blue batiste): Cut two blue batiste rectangles
to angel wing sleeve ruffle size indicated on chart. Position armhole
template in same manner as for sleeve. Note: Though there will be
very little curve, mark armhole and vertical center as on sleeves.
Madeira appliqué hem (ivory batiste): Cut two ivory rectangles to
hem size indicated on chart.
